Darren joined Mortimore & Co in 2009 after a spell in customer care with a building society. He loves the constant variety and challenges that his job throws up and gets great satisfaction from using knowledge he gained from his studies or previous experience to solve problems big or small.

Darren’s childhood hopes of becoming a rock climber were dashed when he realised he wasn’t actually very good at climbing and that there weren’t many job opportunities for rock climbers. However early promise in maths at school indicated he was destined for a successful career in finance or accounting.

Before coming to work, Darren either goes for a run or visits the gym. In his spare time he enjoys walking the family dogs and spending time with his wife Melissa and their young sons Rupert and Miles.

He says he couldn’t live without pizza and his gym membership, as one balances out the other. Ever the accountant!
